Meet Sara, One of Our Dedicated Team Leaders
At Headway ABI Australia, we are thrilled to share the story of Sara, our dedicated Team Leader. Joining Headway in 2001 as a Support Worker, Sara now passionately supports our participants by managing the wellbeing of everyone living in the Melville House. In this story, Sara discusses her role, the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment, and the diverse community activities offered at Headway.
“Headway has a very special gift, and it’s our staff. Our team is truly extraordinary. We expect high standards from everyone, but we really support each other in maintaining those standards. The collaboration between management and Support Staff is so well planned and smooth.”

Our Difference
At Headway ABI Australia, we approach care strategically and deliberately; each one of our SDA homes has between 4 to 5 bedrooms, with a dedicated team leader assigned to each house. This means that our participants can receive the care they need with committed staff members and specialists constantly checking on their wellbeing.
Our approach to care ensures you have everything you need to continue to reach your independence milestones while providing you peace of mind that you're in the best possible hands 24/7.
Our group of SDAs are located in the beautiful Northern Gold Coast between Coomera and Molendinar. Coomera, surrounded by stunning rivers and parklands, is also known as the theme park capital of Australia, providing our participants with a range of fun and engaging activities to enjoy.
As we head south towards Molendinar and the Gold Coast, we’re spoiled with unique cafes, restaurants, and BBQ spots. Each of our houses is close to shops and medical centres, ensuring amenities and must-haves are always within arms reach.
Our commitment extends to personalised support, with dedicated carers and team leaders ensuring the well-being and independence of our participants. During your stay in one of our many locations, our carers encourage cooking or daily activities such as puzzles, board games, or playing an instrument. We motivate our community members to work on improving themselves, focusing on making daily strides towards meeting their goals.
