Since 1986, Headway ABI Australia Ltd has provided specialist support, services, supported accommodation and rehabilitation therapies for people with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). As a registered NDIS provider and a not-for-profit organisation, Headway ABI’s mission is to empower participants to achieve more choice and control in their lives. Our purpose is to support individuals to enjoy a better day, a better week, a better year and a better life.

At Headway ABI, our purpose is to assist participants to gain choice and control, and to empower them to achieve their goals. We provide support and opportunities to enhance the wellbeing, inclusion and lifestyle of an individual with an Acquired Brain Injury. This mission is underpinned by four pillars:

Headway ABI is the Gold Coast’s leading specialist in Acquired Brain Injury care and support. Our dedicated team combines expertise and understanding as we work to enhance the lifestyle and opportunities for participants.

We offer a broad range of services to meet individual needs and choices which include:

  • Support with personal care and everyday living.
  • Community participation and inclusion (group activities, outings, appointments and more).
  • Exercise and rehabilitation therapy for functional and cognitive improvement through our state-of-the-art Wings Wellbeing Centre.
  • Support coordination for the successful implementation of participant’s NDIS plans.
  • Housing, accommodation and supported living options (SIL/ILO/SDA) across the Gold Coast and South Brisbane.
  • Short and Medium-Term Accommodation (STA/Respite) at The Headway Homestead, our stunning and healing environment.

This unique location offers a Country Life retreat which will enable you to recharge and be energized with individualized 24/7 support and care. Our Homestead provides luxury, comfort and convenience that is close to nature. Our experienced and qualified support staff will not only provide you with a fresh, delicious home cooked individualized meal plan, they will assist you in building your activity plan to bring more joy and fun during your stay.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was created to support Australians living with a disability. Headway ABI is proud to be a fully certified NDIS Registered Provider.
